Atalanta Society The Atalanta Society, founded to support UCI Women's Athletic Scholarships, is beginning its 2010 campaign. Atalanta was a goddess in Greek Mythology known for her athleticism and hunting prowess. The society would like to honor this strong, independent image by providing scholarship support to three outstanding UCI female athletes for this upcoming academic year. Bob Newcomb Student Award To support a student award for a men's volleyball student-athlete. The Colonel Eric N. Piper To provide undergraduate student scholarship support for a baseball student-athlete. Melissa & Kurt Ehlert
To establish an endowed fund to support women's volleyball. Fund will support operational expenses and supplement scholarship for the women's volleyball program. Myron McNamara Memorial To provide undergraduate student support for members of the tennis team from the proceeds of gifts and events honoring Coach Myron McNamara. Steve & Jamie Trevor Memorial To provide undergraduate student scholarship support for a member of the UCI men's basketball team. Tim Tift Basketball Scholarship Award To support an annual award for a men's basketball student-athlete. Student will be selected by a committee. Bernie Svalstad Scholarship Award To provide undergraduate student scholarship support for a member of the UCI men's basketball team.
