Campus Recreation is a Non-Academic Department that is part of Intercollegiate Athletics and Campus Recreation, a Sub-Division of the Division of the Chancellor. Campus Recreation programs, facilities and services are funded through student fees and operational income with the purpose of complementing the university's mission by enhancing the campus community through recreational sports and fitness activities.
Our vision is to provide participatory sports and fitness programs and services to the university community in a manner that meets or exceeds the standard of excellence of the University.
Programs include intramural sports, club sports, classes & clinics, fitness & wellness, and outdoor adventures.

The Anteater Recreation Center is a 89,000 square foot indoor facility designed to house Campus Recreation programs and the Anteater Recreation Center Fields include 25 acres of an outdoor complex that supports Campus Recreation Field and court activities. There is also a Sailing Facility, whose dock space is leased from Orange Coast College, a supporter of UC Irvine's sailing fleet.
