Coach John Speraw's Anteaters are the fourth seed and Hawaii No. 5. UCI, which has won six straight matches, is 18-11 overall and went 14-8 in MPSF action this season. The `Eaters defeated Hawaii twice in February at the Bren Center.

WOMEN'S WATER POLO WINS ANOTHER BIG WEST TITLE: The 10th-ranked UCI women's water polo team won the program's second Big West Conference regular-season title in the past three years with weekend wins over Cal State Northridge (9-8) and UC Santa Barbara (11-5). UCI won three of four games this past week, including 13-7 at Pacific Sunday as Drew Hillman became the second Anteater player in history to record six hits in a single game. He earned Big West Player of the Week honors. The `Eaters are No. 18 in this week's USA Today/ESPN coaches' poll.

JOCK RUNS FASTEST 800 TIME IN NATION: UCI junior Charles Jock recorded the nation's fastest time in the 800 meters this year with a school-record 1:45.19 in winning the Invitational Elite event at the 53rd annual Mt. Coach Vince O'Boyle's men's and women's track & field teams travel to Cal State Fullerton Saturday for a rare dual meet against the Titans.

WOMEN'S GOLF COMPETING AT BIG WEST CHAMPIONSHIP: UCI's women's golf team is competing in the Big West Conference Championship through Tuesday (April 19) at Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita. Coach Julie Brooks' Anteaters were in third place following Sunday's first round.

WOMEN'S TENNIS PREPARES FOR BIG WEST CHAMPIONSHIP: The UCI women's tennis team is idle from competition until the Big West Conference Tournament April 29-May 1 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. MEN'S GOLF DEFENDS TITLE AT BIG WEST TOURNAMENT: Coach Paul Smolinski's UCI men's golf team looks to successfully defend its title in the Big West Conference Championship May 2-3 at Mission Viejo Country Club. UCI finished 10th in the 65th Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz this past weekend.

Former UCI golfer Garrett Sapp finished ninth in the Nationwide Tour's Fresh Express Classic at TPC Stonebrae in Hayward, Calif., this past weekend. Sapp carded a 54-hole total of 6-under par 204 as Sunday's final round was cancelled due to fog. Sapp was a two-time All-Big West Conference first-team selection at UCI.
