UC Irvine Men, San Jose State Women Win UCI/Ayres Hotel & Suites Relay Invitational

IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men and the San Jose State Women won the UC Irvine/Ayres Hotel & Suites Relay Invitational Sunday afternoon at Anteater Aquatics Complex. The Anteater men scored 417 points to win their fourth Relay Invitational and first since 2005. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps was second with 322 points and Atlantic Legends were third with 267 points. UC Irvine won all 10 relay events. The 'Eaters broke the meet record in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:26.05. The Spartan women had 336 points to win their first ever UC Irvine Invitational title. The host Anteaters took second with 277 points and Boise State was third with 258 points. San Jose State and UC Irvine each won five relay events at the meet. San Jose State tied a meet record in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:36.93. UCI set a new meet record in the 3x100 fly relay with a time of 2:50.91.
