Anteaters Sweep Cal State Northridge

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's and women's swimming & diving teams swept Cal State Northridge Friday afternoon at Matador Pool. The UCI men won 126-56 while the women won 124-77.
The 'Eater women won 10 of the 11 events held on the day. Sophomore Stephanie Gabert (Newport Beach/Arizona) won both the 200 free (1:58.60) and the 500 free (5:11.27). Sophomore Ann Tsuchiya (South Pasadena/Mayfield HS) tied for the win in the 50 free (25.74) and won the 100 free (54.24).
On the men's side, UCI won nine of the 11 events. Freshman Michael Kim (Seoul, Korea/El Dorado HS) won both the 1000 free (10:14.42) and the 200 back (1:56.94). Freshman Julian Lawrence (La Cañada HS) won both the 200 IM (2:07.78) and the 500 free (4:44.74).
The Anteaters conclude the regular season Saturday as they travel to Davis to face UC Davis at noon.
