Anteater Women Finish Second; Men Third at Big West Championships

The Anteater women finished with 655 points behind UCSB with 926 points. The Anteater men finished with 624 points behind winner UCSB with 856 points and UC Davis with 674 points. Sophomore Lyndsay DePaul won the 200 fly with a NCAA `A' cut time of 1:57.52 to win her third individual title of the meet. Senior diver Jackie Jones won the one-meter diving competition to sweep the diving events at the Big West Championships with a score of 272.75. Freshman Ann Tsuchiya took third in the 1650 free with a time of 17:14.30. Freshman Chelsea Greene was right behind her as she finished 4th in the 1650 with a time of 17:26.81. Sophomore Sarah DeYoreo finished seventh in the 200 back with a time of 2:07.26, but swam a 2:05.69 in prelims. Senior Tanya Nielsen finished ninth in the 100 free with a time of 51.76. Sophomore Amy Lim finished 14th in the 200 breast with a time of 2:32.35. Sophomore Chris Rosales took sixth in the 200 breast with a time of 2:03.45.
Senior Eddie Erazo won the 200 fly with a NCAA `A' cut time and new meet and UCI record time of 1:43.82. Erazo won all three of his individual events at the Big West Championships. Freshman diver Miles Smith won the three-meter diving competition to sweep the Big West diving titles with a score of 321.5. The relay team of sophomore Nate Rogers, Eddie Erazo, freshman Garrett Thompson and junior Will Wollam won the 400 free relay with a time of 3:01.98. Freshman Christian Lawrence had the top finish in the 1650 free as he swam a time of 16:39.66. Sophomore Chris Sanchez finished 11th in the 200 back with a time of 1:56.16 after swimming a 1:55.70 in prelims. Will Wollam finished eighth in the 100 free with a time of 45.99 after swimming a 45.52 in prelims. The Anteaters will now prepare for the NCAA Championships and NCAA Zone `E' Diving Regionals to take place in March. The Zone `E' Diving Regionals are Mach 13th-15th in |
