Anteater Shootout Concludes Final Day

IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men’s and women's swimming & diving teams concluded the Anteater Shootout at Anteater Aquatics Complex Saturday afternoon. The Stanford women and the Hawaii men were the winners of the Shootout with each team going undefeated in Pool A competition Saturday. The UCI men went 1-2 on the day defeating Cal State Northridge 82-31 and loses against UC Davis and Cal Poly. The Anteater women went 1-3, defeating CSUN and losing to Idaho, Cal Poly and San Diego. Sophomore diver Miles Smith won both the one-meter (254.70) and three-meter (258.85) competitions in Pool B. Sophomore Ann Tsuchiya won the 200 free (1:55.85) and junior diver Melanie Grosvenor won the one-meter diving event (216.60) in Pool B. The Anteater swimmers will next compete at the UCI/Nike Cup Thursday, Nov. 20th through Saturday, Nov. 22nd at Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach.
