Anteaters Prepare for NCAA Championships in March

ANTEATER WOMEN FINISH SECOND, MEN THIRD AT BIG WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS: The UC Irvine women's swimming & diving team finished second at the Big West Championships finishing with a total of 655 points. The men's team finished third with 624 points. UCI won a total of 14 events at the meet and set meet records in five events.
On the men's side, senior Eddie Erazo (San Diego/Mt. Carmel HS) won the 200 fly, 100 back and 100 fly. Freshman diver Miles Smith won both the one-meter and three-meter diving competitions. The relay team of sophomore Nate Rogers (Albuquerque, N.M./California), Eddie Erazo, freshman Garrett Thompson (Stockton/Lincoln HS) and junior Will Wollam (Riverside/Rubidoux HS) won the 400 free relay.
Lyndsay DePaul has qualified for the NCAA's thanks to NCAA "A" cuts in the 200 fly (1:56.90), the 200 IM (2:00.36) and the 400 IM (4:11.68). DePaul has "B" cut times in the 200 free (1:47.74), the 500 free (4:48.93) and the 1650 free (16:45.28). Chelsea Nagata has `A' cut times in the 100 fly (53.20) and the 100 back (54.14) and a `B' cut in the 50 free (23.03). Senior Eddie Erazo has an `A' cut time of 1:43.82 in the 200 fly and `B' cut times in the 100 fly (47.60) and 100 back (47.98). |
