Eddie Erazo, Chelsea Nagata Named UCI's Big West Scholar-Athletes of the Year

IRVINE, Calif. - Senior Eddie Erazo and senior Chelsea Nagata have been named UC Irvine's Big West Scholar-Athletes of the Year. Eddie Erazo was named the Big West Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Year following his winning three individual titles at the Big West Championships. He will compete at the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Wash. March 27th-29th. Chelsea Nagata is a two-time All-American in the 100 fly. She won both the 100 fly and the 100 back at the Big West Championships last month and will compete at the NCAA Championships for the fourth straight year March 20th-22nd in Columbus, Ohio. Erazo and Nagata were each honored Thursday at the Big West Scholar-Athlete Banquet in Anaheim. This is the second straight year that Chelsea Nagata has been UCI's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
