Alisha Misiaita Finishes 7th in Shot Put at NCAA West RegionalMay 31, 2008
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- UC Irvine sophomore Alisha Misiaita placed seventh in the shot put Saturday at the NCAA West Regional in Northridge. Misiaita had a mark of 50-7 ¼ in the competition at Cal State Northridge's Matador Track Complex. That effort was one inch short of her school record of 50-8 ¼ set earlier this season. She earned All-West Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Arizona State's Jessica Pressley won the event Saturday with a mark of 57-1. UCI junior Lauren Chramosta finished 11th in her section and 28th overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:01.81. Angela Wagner of BYU won the event in 9:58.68. Anteater sophomore Matt Lahti finished 29th overall in the hammer throw with a mark of 174-4 while senior Sky Johnston was 29th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:32.56.
