UCI Hosts Asics/Steve Scott Invitational This Weekend

IRVINE, Calif. --- The UC Irvine track and field teams host the Asics/Steve Scott Invitational at Anteater Stadium Saturday and Sunday (May 2-3).
Six field events Saturday afternoon begin with the women's hammer throw and men's javelin throw at 2:00 p.m.
Four track events are scheduled for Saturday evening with the women's 5,000 meters at 6:00 p.m., the men's 5,000 at 6:25 p.m., women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at 6:50 p.m. and men's steeplechase at 7:05 p.m.
Field events begin Sunday with the women's shot put and women's pole vault at 10:00 a.m.
Track events Sunday start with the women's 4x100-meter relay at 12:00 p.m.
UCI has seven NCAA-regional qualifiers to date this season: Lauren Collins (high jump), Lauren Chramosta (3,000-meter steeplechase), Alisha Misiaita (shot put), Candice Chavez (5,000 meters), Charles Jock (800 meters), Julian Eison (high jump) and Matt Lahti (hammer throw). Collins has qualified for the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon.
