IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine decathletes Eric Nyberg, Kyle Peterson and Trent Richert compete this weekend in the Big West Conference Multi-Event Championships at Cal State Northridge's Matador Track Complex.

First event in the decathlon begins Friday (May 9) at 12:00 p.m. with Saturday's action starting at 11:00 a.m.

Nyberg, a senior, finished ninth in last year's Big West decathlon and Richert, also a senior, was eighth in the 2006 event. Peterson, a junior, was a JC All-American at Orange Coast College, where he won last year's Orange Empire Conference decathlon.
