Cross Country:
She has placed in the top three at the past three Big West Conference Cross Country Championships, including third (21:45.8) in 2007...was 43rd (21:30.50) at the '07 NCAA Cross Country West Regional...placed ninth of 322 runners at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark...was named Big West Athlete of the Week three times during the 2007 cross country season...placed second at the Anteater Invitational and third at the Stanford Invitational...finished ninth in the 5,000 meters (17:50.76) at the 2007 Big West Conference Track & Field Championships....was sixth in the 3,000 meters at the '07 Collegiate Track & Field Classic....finished second at the 2006 Big West Cross Country Championships with a time of 21:23.9 over 6,000 meters....placed third at the NCAA West Regional with a time of 21:16.20 to advance to the NCAA Championships, where she finished 83rd of 253 runners....was named to the 2006 All-West Region team in cross country....placed fifth in the 3,000 meters at the 2006 Big West Challenge Cup in track....was named the Big West Conference Freshman of the Year in 2005 cross country after finishing second (21:00.3) at the league meet won by UCI....placed 42nd at the '05 NCAA West Regional....was third at the UCI and Cal Poly Invitationals in 2005.... was a redshirt in cross country at UCI in 2004....won the Del Rio League cross country title at Whittier High in 2003....earned All-CIF honors...majoring in social ecology....parents are Jose and Maria Olvera. |
