FULLERTON, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's cross country team won the title of the Titan Invitational Friday on the Cal State Fullerton campus course.

UCI finished with 29 points, Loyola Marymount was second with 42 and University of San Diego third with 51.

Joshua Arrieta, running unattached, was the individual winner in 24:48.0 over the 8,000-meter course.

UCI's Brett Schmitt finished 11th in 25:42.0, Aman Bhatia was 14th (26:06.0) and Trevor Smith 20th (26:43.0). Brennen Halliday placed 27th in 27:18.0 and Andrew Snyder was 40th in 28:34.0.

The Anteater women's team finished third with 68 points as the Cal Coast Track Club was first with 28 and USC second with 30.

Zsofia Erdelyi of USC won the race in 17:36.0 over the 5,000-meter course.

UCI's Courtney Wilson was 20th in 19:18.0, Stephanie Sconberg 29th in 19:53.0 and Katya Ramos 34th in 20:06.0. Michaela Fleming placed 40th (20:35.0), Corina Ubario 44th (21:21.0), Amy Green 45th (21:25.0) and Stephanie LaRue 47th (21:35.0).


 

 

UCI competes in the Big West Conference Championships next Saturday (Oct. 31) at UC Riverside.
