Erinn Kim, Sam Hyams Named Big West Athletes of Week

IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine's Erinn Kim and Sam Hyams have been named the Big West Conference Athletes of the Week in cross country. Kim, a senior, won the individual title of the Titan Invitational last Friday with a time of 18:11.9 over the 5,000-meter course on the Cal State Fullerton campus. Her showing helped UCI to a second-place team finish. Hyams, a freshman, was the top-scoring collegiate runner in the men's competition with a time of 25:38.0 over 8,000 meters as the Anteaters won the team title. Both UCI teams compete in the Big West Conference Championships at UC Riverside Saturday.
