Los Angeles, Calif. --- The UC Irvine offense recorded a season-high 11 runs as the Anteaters swept USC with an 11-3 decision Tuesday at Dedeaux Field. Outfielder Tony Asaro recorded a career-high four RBI as the Anteaters climbed to 11-1 overall.

Asaro belted a pair of doubles, going 2 for 4 while Jeff Cusick added two hits. Catcher Aaron Lowenstein had four runs scored while leadoff batter Ben Orloff drew three base on balls and recorded a hit and an RBI.

UCI pitcher Danny Bibona improved to 3-0 on the season after holding the Trojans to two runs on four hits in six innings pitched.

UC Irvine took the early lead, scoring three runs in the top of the second. Asaro put the Anteaters on the board with a two-run double to score Sean Madigan and Lowenstein. Orloff drew a two-out, full-count walk to extend the inning and kep the Trojans busy in a run-down, allowing Asaro to score on the play.

UCI added a run in the third on an RBI single from Ryan Fisher to score Francis Larson, who had reached first on a passed ball and advanced to second on a failed pickoff.

USC responded in the bottom of the third on Roberto Lopez's RBI triple to right to plate Joe De Pinto. Lopez would later cross the plate on a wild pitch.

The Anteaters benefited again from a run-down in the fourth. Lowenstein doubled and advanced to third on a sacrifice hit. Linton, who was awarded a base on balls, took a sizeable lead off first, drawing the throw from pitcher Chris McCaffrey. First baseman Derek Perren ran Linton toward second and Lowenstein capitalized by stealing home while Linton was able to get back to first safely.

Eric Deragisch started the UCI scoring in a three-run fifth with a single to plate Jeff Cusick and Asaro delivered once again in the fifth with his second two-run double of the game.  The Anteaters added three run in the sixth to cap the scoring for UCI.

USC starter Danny Beck fell to 0-1 after giving up four runs on three hits in 2.1 innings. The Trojans were led by Roberto Lopez and Hector Rabago, who had two hits apiece.
