IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine, fresh off winning the Lincoln (Neb.) Regional by winning all three of its games, travels to Baton Rouge, La., this weekend for the Super Regional against LSU.

The best-of-three series will begin Saturday, June 7 with first pitch at 3:00 p.m.  Sunday's game (June 8) is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and Monday's contest (June 9), if necessary, is slated for a 4:00 p.m. start.  All times listed are Pacific.

Saturday's game is scheduled to be televised on ESPNU with Sunday's broadcast shown on ESPN. Monday's game is slated to air on ESPN2.

Coach Mike Gillespie's Anteaters are 41-16 overall after defeating Oral Roberts, 8-0, in Lincoln Sunday on the strength of Bryce Stowell's pitching performance that netted 13 strikeouts in 7.2 innings.

LSU, the national No. 7 seed, captured its regional title with an 11-4 victory over Southern Miss Sunday. The Tigers, 46-16-1, have won 23 straight games, the nation's longest and an SEC record.

LSU is coached by Paul Mainieri, who was the head coach at Notre Dame in 2004 when UCI competed in the South Bend Regional.

This weekend's games will be the last at LSU's Alex Box Stadium as the Tigers will be opening a new facility next year.
