IRVINE, Calif. --- Sophomore Bryce Stowell (La Habra/Pepperdine) was named to the College Baseball Foundation National All-Star Lineup after leading UC Irvine to an 8-0 win to clinch the Lincoln Regional title last Sunday.

Stowell was named the Most Outstanding Player after pitching 7.2 innings with a career-high 13 strikeouts to give UCI it's second consecutive win over the Golden Eagles in the tournament.

Stowell faced the minimum through the first three innings, helped by a double-play groundout to end the third inning and recorded five of his 13 strikeouts before giving up a one-out single in the fourth. After yielding two-hits in the fourth and the fifth frames, Stowell retired nine straight prior to handing the ball off to the Anteater bullpen.

Stowell matched a career-high, hurling 7.2 innings and did not walk a batter as he improved to 8-2 on the year.
