IRVINE, Calif. --- Junior Daniel Bibona (Lake Forest/Santa Margarita HS) has been tabbed a Baseball America second team All-American.

Bibona led UC Irvine with a 12-1 record on the mound and went undefeated in Big West games, posting a 7-0 mark, en route to collecting 2009 Big West Pitcher of the Year honors. The 6-0 southpaw led the team with 108 strikeouts and hurled 106 innings while holding opposing teams to a .209 average.

He hurled his first career complete game against UC Davis, leading the Anteaters to their first-ever Big West Conference championship and earned Irvine Regional All-Tournament honors after striking out a career-high 14 batters in a 4-2 win over Fresno State in postseason play.

Bibona, who was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2009 Major League Draft, picks up his third All-America award this season and was recognized by Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
