Malcolm, Leyland Named to All-Horizon Air Summer Series Baseball Teams

IRVINE, Calif. --- Stephen Malcolm (Stockton/Tokay HS) and Jordan Leyland (San Dimas/HS) were named to the All-Horizon Air Summer Series Baseball Teams today. Malcolm collected first-team honors while Leyland was named to the second team.

Malcolm, playing for the Lodi Baseball Club, hit .379 with 33 hits and 15 RBI. Name an all-series shortstop, Malcolm recorded six doubles, a pair of triples and 30 runs scored as Lodi won the Engelken Division with a 15-9 record.

Leyland, a member of the Bend Elks, was named a second-team honoree after hitting .331 in 31 games. The first baseman was second on the team with 43 hits and posted a team-high 10 doubles. His 20 RBI were third-best on the team and he struck out just 10 times in 130 at bats. The Elks were 23-19 overall and 21-18 in league action.
