2009-10: Played in 20 games during his first season with the UC Irvine program...averaged 1.7 points and 2.3 rebounds...had a high of seven boards in back-to-back games against Seattle University and San Jose State in December...had five games of at least five rebounds...scored a high of nine points in the season-opening win over La Verne.

JC: Played at Butte College in 2008-09, averaging 11.5 points and 8.4 rebounds...had a top-scoring game of 24 points versus Bakersfield...shot 58 percent from the field...was named to the All-Golden Valley Conference first team and was his team's co-MVP...Butte finished 22-9 and won the conference title for Coach Russ Critchfield.

2007-08: Played his freshman season at Southern Connecticut.

High School: Played at Life Center Academy in Burlington, N.J., in 2006-07, averaging 11 points and 8 rebounds per game...had a high-scoring game of 28 points...scored 18 points against nationally-ranked St. Anthony's and snared 15 rebounds versus St. Patrick's, another national power...averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds his junior year in Slovakia.

Personal: Majoring in sociology...parents are Vera Simekova and Norbert Simek...has an older brother, Robert Simek....his cousin, Juraj Simek, was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in 2006.
