Previous School: Played at Centenary (La.) College last season...is immediately eligible at UC Irvine due to Centenary reclassifying its athletic program from NCAA Division I to Division III...he averaged 11.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists for Centenary last season...he posted 16 games of double-figure scoring with a high of 27 points in a 95-76 win over Texas College...scored 19 points versus Louisiana Tech, hitting 5 of 7 threes, and added seven rebounds and four assists...he scored in double figures in each of the season's final seven games and 11 of the last 13...started 28 games and led Centenary with 46 steals...was named the state of Louisiana's Freshman of the Year by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association...was a redshirt at Centenary in 2008-09.

High School: Earned first team All-Sea View League honors at El Toro High School in 2007...helped lead the Chargers to the league title and the second round of the state playoffs...led the team in rebounding at 5.8 boards per game and he also averaged 9.2 points and 3.1 assists.

Personal: Majoring in psychology and social behavior...his mother, Tammy Starring, played basketball at McNeese State.
