Big West Conference Media Day Release

IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine was selected sixth in the coaches and media preseason polls at Big West Conference Media Day Wednesday at the Irvine Hilton.

Cal State Northridge was chosen to finish first in both polls.

Head coach Pat Douglass and senior forward Kevin Bland represented UCI at the annual function.

The `Eaters open their 2008-09 schedule hosting Cal Poly Pomona in an exhibition game Nov. 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Bren Events Center.

UCI opens the regular season on the road at USC Nov. 15 at 12:30 p.m. at the Galen Center before returning home to host Eastern Washington Nov. 19 and Oregon Nov. 21 in 7:00 p.m. games at the Bren.
