Irvine JV Men Capture Another Win
Marina
del Rey, Calif.-- The UC Irvine men raced against UCLA and
San Diego State on March 17th. The JV men got a lead early
but UCLA did not give up, giving them a race till the end.
The Anteaters won by less than 1 second. The Novice men got
an early lead but lost the lead at the end against UCLA losing
by less than 1 second. The varsity men came in second place
beating San Diego State. The novice 4 had a good race but

San Diego and Long Beach State on the Tecolote race course on March
10, 2007. UC San Diego won all 4 men's events. The varsity men and
the novice 4 both beat Long Beach State's crews to take second place
in their events. The novice boat challenged Long Beach the entire

Men Scrimmage Long Beach State
February
24, 2007
Newport,
Calif.-- The UC Irvine men scrimmaged Long Beach State at home on
Saturday February 24, 2007. Both the varsity and novice men battled
with the Long Beach men. The varsity did three 2,000 meter pieces
with Long Beach coming out a head for all of the pieces. The novice
8 and 4 swapped pieces with the Long Beach men the entire day doing
timed pieces starting at 8 minutes and ending with 2 minute open
rate pieces.

Newport,
Calif.-- The UC Irvine fourth annual Class Day Races were help on
Saturday February 10, 2007. The Sophomore eight dominated the competition
winning all three of their 2,000 meter races.

and OCC Scrimmage
February
3, 2007
Newport,
Calif.-- Irvine Men scrimmaged Orange Coast College on Saturday
February 3rd. It was a great morning for racing with little boat
traffic and good conditions. The Varsity Men won a 3,000 meter piece
by a little open water and lost 2 shorter pieces by just a few seats.
It was a great battle for both teams. The Novice Men had several
great pieces holding off the Orange Coast boats for longer and longer

Beach Erg Sprints
January
27, 2007
Long
Beach, Calif.-- The Irvine men had a great showing at the Long Beach
Erg Sprints on January 27, 2006. Five men received medals in their
events: Matt Michaelson placed first in the Collegiate Men's event,
Josh Cohen placed second in the Collegiate Men's event, Jon Iwata
placed third in the Collegiate Lightweight Men's event, Mark Caswell
placed first in the Open Men's event and Mike Ward placed second
in the Collegiate Novice Men event. (For

Autumn Rowing Festival- November 12, 2006
Newport,
Calif.-- Irvine men raced at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival
on November 12, 2006. The Varsity men raced two even boats in the
open eight and placed 12th and 13th out of 27 crews. The Novice
men raced three novice eight boats. The novice men raced great for
their first race, with only 2 days of rowing by eights prior to
this event.
