RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team is in fourth place after Monday's first two rounds of the USD Callaway Invitational at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe.

SMU leads the 12-team field with a 36-hole score of 575. San Diego and Fresno State are tied for second place at 581 and UCI shot 591 for two rounds.

Matt Schovee of SMU is the individual leader at 6-under 138 on rounds of 71-67.

UCI junior Max Greil is sixth at 143 (72-71) and senior John Chin is 19th at 148 (77-71).

Senior Tim Cha (75-75) and freshman Jerry He (76-74) are tied for 27th at 150 and junior Bryan Harris is 60th at 159 (78-81).

The final 18 holes are scheduled for Tuesday.
