UC Irvine Finishes 4th at USD Callaway Invitational

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team finished fourth in the USD Callaway Invitational that concluded Tuesday at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe.
Host San Diego won the 12-team tournament with a 54-hole total of 862. SMU was second at 865, Fresno State third at 875 and UCI fourth at 878. The Anteaters shot 287 Tuesday, the second-best team score of the day behind San Diego's 281.
Fresno State's Bhavik Patel was medalist at 8-under 208 after a 3-under 69 Tuesday.
UCI senior John Chin shot a 4-under 68 in the final round to finish sixth at even-par 216. Junior Max Greil also was sixth after a 73 Tuesday.
Senior Tim Cha shot 72 and was 20th at 222, freshman Jerry He (76) was 31st at 226 and junior Bryan Harris (74) placed 51st at 233.
The Anteaters return to action Mar. 8-9 at the Fresno State Lexus Classic.
