UCI Finishes 6th at UTA/Waterchase Invitational

FORT WORTH, Tex. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team finished sixth in the UTA/Waterchase Invitational that concluded Tuesday at Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth, Tex.
Rice won the 19-team tournament with a 54-hole total of 6-under 858. UT-Arlington was second at 860, Wichita State third at 872, Sam Houston State fourth at 880, Texas State fifth at 883, and UCI sixth at 884.
Dustin Garza of Wichita State was medalist at 8-under 208 after a 2-under 70 in the final round.
UCI junior Max Greil shot a 75 in the final round to place 13th at 219. Senior Tim Cha (78) was 16th at 220, senior John Chin (75) finished 36th at 224, junior Bryan Harris (76) was 45th at 226 and freshman Jerry He (75) placed 52nd at 227.
Coach Paul Smolinski's Anteaters return to action Oct. 12-13 in The MacKenzie at The Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.
