LONG BEACH, Calif. --- UC Irvine finished second in the Del Walker Intercollegiate that concluded Friday at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach.

Colorado State won the 15-team tournament with a 54-hole total of 41-under par 811. UCI was runner-up at 18-under 834 and Long Beach State third at 10-under 842.

Zahkai Brown of Colorado State was medalist with a 17-under total of 196 after shooting a 4-under 67 in the final round.

UCI junior John Chin tied for second at 9-under 204 following a 1-over 72 Friday. Colorado State's Dustin Morris also finished at 204 with a 69 in the last round.

Anteater freshman Roberto Francioni shot a 2-under 69 to place 11th at 210 and senior Sean Shahi shot 70 to finish 12th at 211. Senior Cean Hayashi Geronimo shot a team-best 68 Friday to place 15th at 212. Freshman Michael Im finished 38th at 218 following a 71 in the final round.

UCI returns to action Nov. 10-12 at the Turtle Bay (Hawaii) Intercollegiate.
