UC Irvine in 6th Place at Saint Mary's Invitational

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. --- The UC Irvine men's golf team is in sixth place after the first round of the Saint Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach. Monday's second round was suspended due to darkness.

Denver is the first-round leader at 285 in the 16-team field. San Diego and Oregon State are tied for second at 287. UCI shot 296 in the opening round.

Denver's Espen Kofstad is the individual leader after shooting a 5-under 67.

UCI's John Chin and Michael Yang are tied for 16th place at 73, Bryan Harris is 28th at 74, Jerry He is 49th at 76 and Max Greil is in 57th place with a 77.

The completion of the second round and the final round are scheduled for Tuesday.
