UCI Tied for 5th Place at Turtle Bay Invitational

KAHUKU, Hawai'i --- UC Irvine is tied for fifth place after Tuesday's second round in the Turtle Bay Resort Collegiate Invitational at the Turtle Bay Resort Golf Club. San Diego State and UNLV lead the 19-team tournament with 36-hole totals of 8-under par 568. UCI and New Mexico State are tied for fifth, seven shots back at 1-under 575. Thomas Kua of Hawai'i and Johan Carlsson from San Diego State are tied for the individual lead with 7-under totals of 137. UCI senior Sean Shahi shot a 3-under 69 Tuesday and is in sixth place at 5-under 139. Max Greil (72) and John Chin (76) are tied for 37th at 146 while Cean Hayashi Geronimo (74) is in 46th place at 147. Michael Im was disqualified in the second round. The tournament concludes with the final 18 holes Wednesday.
