John Chin Named Big West Golfer of the Month

IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine senior John Chin has been named the Big West Conference Golfer of the Month for February.

Chin was medalist at the Anteater Invitational with a 54-hole total of 11-under 202 (66-65-71). UCI came back from 14 shots down in the final round to defeat Santa Clara in a one-hole playoff for the team title at Mesa Verde Country Club Feb. 2.

Chin finished sixth in the USD Callaway Invitational Feb. 8-9 with an even-par 216 on rounds of 77, 71 and 68. The Anteaters finished fourth in the team competition.

Chin leads UCI with a 70.76 average and four top-10 finishes this season.

UCI returns to action Monday and Tuesday in the Fresno State Lexus Classic at San Joaquin Country Club in Fresno.
