Chin, Kim Qualify for U.S. Amateur Public Links

IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine's John Chin and Kenny Kim have qualified for the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship that will be played July 14-19 at Murphy Creek Golf Course in Aurora, Colo. Chin finished second in sectional qualifying June 23 at Los Serranos Golf Course (South Course) with a 36-hole total of 6-under 138 (69-69). The 2008 Big West Conference Player of the Year will be a junior at UCI in the fall. Kim placed third in the sectional qualifier June 24, also at the Los Serranos South Course. He recorded a total of 8-under 136 (69-67). Kim completed his eligibility at UCI this spring.
