IRVINE, Calif. --- Coach Paul Smolinski's UC Irvine men's golf team competes in the Del Walker Intercollegiate Thursday and Friday (Oct. 16-17) at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach.

Thirty-six holes are scheduled for Thursday with the final 18 on Friday.

Joining UCI and host Long Beach State in the field are Arizona "B", Cal State Northridge, Colorado State, Houston, Loyola Marymount, North Texas, Pacific, San Jose State, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, Texas-San Antonio and Weber State.

Colorado State is the defending champion.

UCI's lineup is slated to be John Chin, Sean Shahi, Michael Im, Cean Hayashi Geronimo and Roberto Francioni.

Chin leads the Anteaters with a 71.50 average in two tournaments. Shahi has a 73.00 average through six rounds, Im and Francioni 74.33 in one tournament each, and Geronimo 78.67, also in one tournament.

UCI placed seventh at the Topy Cup in Tanagura, Japan, and fourth in the Saint Mary's College Invitational at Poppy Hills.
