UC Irvine Competes at Saint Mary's Invitational Monday, Tuesday

IRVINE, Calif. --- Coach Paul Smolinski's UC Irvine men's golf team competes Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 9-10) in the Saint Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach. Thirty-six holes are scheduled for Monday with the final 18 on Tuesday at the par-72 layout that covers 6,857 yards. Joining UCI and host Saint Mary's in the field are Cal Poly, Denver, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, Marquette, Memphis, Nevada, Oregon State, Pacific, Portland, San Diego, USF, UC Santa Barbara and Wisconsin. UCI's lineup will include seniors John Chin and Tim Cha, juniors Max Greil and Bryan Harris, and freshmen Jerry He and Michael Yang. Chin leads the `Eaters with a 71.25 average, followed by Greil (72.13), Yang (72.33), He (72.38), Cha (72.80) and Harris (75.33). This is the last tournament of UCI's fall schedule. The team opens its spring schedule Feb. 1-2 hosting the Anteater Invitational at Mesa Verde Country Club.
