IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine competes in the eighth annual Turtle Bay Collegiate Invitational Monday through Wednesday (Nov. 10-12) at the Turtle Bay Resort Golf Course in Kahuku, O'ahu.

Joining UCI and host Hawai'i in the 19-team field are Baylor, Cal Poly, College of Charleston, Long Beach State, Louisiana-Monroe, Mississippi State, New Mexico State, Ohio State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, Point Loma Nazarene, Saint Mary's, San Diego State, Santa Clara, Texas, Texas-Arlington, and UNLV.

The teams will play 18 holes each day and compete on two different courses. Rounds one and three will be played on the George Fazio Course, a par-72, 6,535 yard course. Round two will be played on the Palmer Course, a par-72, 7,218 yard course.

UCI's lineup features junior John Chin, senior Sean Shahi, sophomore Max Greil, senior Cean Hayashi Geronimo and freshman Michael Im.

This is the final tournament of the fall schedule for UCI. The Anteaters have finished in the top five in two of the previous three tournaments this season.

In its last outing, UCI finished second of 15 teams in the Del Walker Intercollegiate at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach Oct. 16-17.

Junior John Chin tied for second at 9-under 204 while freshman Roberto Francioni placed 11th at 210 and senior Sean Shahi finished 12th at 211. Senior Cean Hayashi Geronimo shot a team-best 68 Friday to place 15th at 212. Freshman Michael Im finished 38th at 218 following a 71 in the final round.

 

 

Chin leads UCI with a 70.33 average through nine rounds this season.
