Lawrence Smalls is in his fourth season as an assistant coach at his alma mater. Smalls returned to UCI in 2004 after being the first ever Anteater to be drafted by a Major League Soccer team, being chosen by the LA Galaxy in 2002. He finished pursuing his professional career with the Galaxy in the 2006 MLS reserve season. Smalls' coaching experience includes Hawaii state ODP 2006 and Nike Soccer ambassador from 2003 - 2006. Smalls graduated from UCI with a B.A. in Social Ecology.
