IRVINE, Calif. - The No. 25 UC Irvine men's soccer team (5-2-3, 0-1-1) tied Cal State Northridge 1-1 in double overtime Saturday night in Big West play at Anteater Stadium.

 

The Anteaters took an early 1-0 lead as freshman Corey Attaway went down the right side of the field on a breakaway and scored the first goal of his career at the 7:10 mark. The Matadors would score early on in the second half to tie the match at 1-1 as Sunghyun Kim scored off an assist from Devin Deldo in the 48th minute. The Anteaters and Matadors completed two overtime periods with the score remaining tied at 1-1.


 

 

 

Junior keeper Greg Larson had five saves for the `Eaters. Kevin Guppy had three saves for CSUN.

 

The Anteaters return to action Wednesday as they travel to San Luis Obispo to take on Cal Poly in Big West play at 7:00 p.m. at Mustang Stadium.
