ST. LOUIS, Mo. – David Sias (Fountain Valley HS) was selected by the Chicago Fire with the 43^rd pick of the 2009 Major League Soccer SuperDraft in St. Louis.

Sias, the 2008 Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Year, becomes just the fourth Anteater to be selected in the SuperDraft and the first since 2007. Sias is the second highest player from UCI in history following former teammate Brad Evans who went 15^th overall in the 2007 SuperDraft.

Sias, a co-captain, led the ‘Eaters to their first ever Big West Championship and their first ever trip to the NCAA Tournament where they advanced to the Round of 16.
