Ryan Cheung Takes Southern California Men's Open Doubles Championship

LAKEWOOD, Calif. --- Ryan Cheung, alongside doubles partner Robert Yim, won the 126th Annual Southern California Men's Open Section Championships over the weekend at the Lakewood Tennis Center hosted by the United States Tennis Association and Southern California Tennis Association.

Cheung and Yim steamrolled through the men's open doubles tournament which included a three-set win in the final match over the No. 1-seeded pair.

The Anteaters were well represented in doubles as Cheung's team had to defeat the duo of Shuhei Shibahara and incoming freshman Tyler Pham to reach the final.

All five incoming freshman were present in the tournament along with Cheung and Shibahara. Pham and Reo Asami each reached the round of 32 before falling to current collegiate players in singles play.
