Anteaters Defeat Highlanders 6-1, Improve to 3-1 in Big West

RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- UCI men's tennis continued to score wins where it counts: in Big West conference play. UCI shut down UC Riverside (3-18, 0-4), 6-1, Wednesday afternoon at Andulka Park.

UCI (7-16, 3-1) swept doubles with scores of 8-3, 8-5, and an 8-1 win from No. 3 doubles pair of Reo Asami and Shuhei Shibahara.

The 'Eaters scored four singles points via straight sets from Ryan Cheung, Justin Agbayani, Shuhei Shibahara, and Caryl Hernandez. Reo Asami delivered the fifth point in three sets after dropping the first.

UCI enters a tie for second place in the conference with Pacific, the 66th-ranked team in the nation. The two will meet on Saturday, April 20th at 1:00 p.m. with matching 3-1 conference records.
