'Eaters Lose 6-1 at No. 26 Washington

SEATTLE, Wash. - The UC Irvine men's tennis team (2-1) lost 6-1 Saturday afternoon to No. 26 Washington at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.

The Huskies won all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. Senior Zac Tsai (Tarzana/Oaks Christian HS) and junior Khunpol Issara (Bangkok, Thailand) lost 8-3 to Martin Kildahl and Derek Drabble in the No. 1 match.

Washington won five of the six singles matches to clinch the team victory. Senior Shimpei Suzuki (Woodbridge HS) defeated Kildahl 6-4, 1-6, 10-7 in No. 3 match for UCI's lone point of the day.

The 'Eaters will return to action as they host San Francisco Sunday, January 31st at 12:00 p.m. at Anteater Tennis Stadium.
