LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's tennis team (3-2) lost 7-0 to No. 1 USC Tuesday afternoon in non-conference play at Marks Stadium.

 The Trojans won all three doubles matches to take the doubles point. Steve Johnson and Daniel Nguyen defeated senior Zac Tsai (Tarzana/Oaks Christian HS) and sophomore Steven Henderson (Poway HS) 8-5 in the closest of the three matches in the No. 1 position.

Senior Shimpei Suzuki (Woodbridge HS) was the lone ‘Eater to win a set on the day as he lost in a third set tiebreaker to Jaak Poldma 5-7, 7-6, 10-7 in No. 3 singles. Robert Farah downed sophomore Fabian Matthews (Corona del Mar HS) 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 1 match.

The 'Eaters will travel to Los Angeles Tuesday to take on No. 1 USC at 1:30 p.m. at Marks Stadium.
