No. 12 UC Irvine Falls At No. 10 UC Santa Barbara, 3-1

Santa Barbara, Calif. -- 12th-ranked UC Irvine fell 3-1 (33-31, 30-28, 27-30, 30-24) to 10th-ranked UC Santa Barbara at Robertson Gym Wednesday.
The Gauchos go to 9-8 overall and 7-5 in the MPSF, while UCI falls to 9-10 on the year and 5-9 in league play.
UCI's Jordan DuFault led all players with 25 kills followed by Carson Clark with 21 kills and a career-high 16 digs. setter Ian Wynne recorded a career-best 68 set assists, while brother Kevin Wynne pounded a season-high 11 kills from the middle. Kevin Carroll added eight kills.
Jeff Menzel led UCSB with 22 kills, three service aces and 11 digs. Jake Rosener and Scott Slaughter each totaled 14 kills with Vince Devany adding 60 set assists and 10 digs.
UC Irvine will travel to No. 5 UCLA Friday for a 7:00 p.m. match at Pauley Pavilion.
