Stanford, Calif. -- No. 11 Stanford defeated No. 7 UC Irvine, 3-1 (30-23, 28-30, 30-23, 30-24) in the regular seasonfinale at Burnham Pavilion Saturday.

The Anteaters (15-14 overall, 11-11 MPSF) finish the year as the seventh seed and will host No. 8 USC Wednesday (Apr. 16) at 7:00 p.m. The winner of the match will travel to No. 2 BYU for a quarterfinal match Saturday (Apr. 19).

Jon Steller was the only Anteater in double-figure kills with 16. The middle was productive for the Anteaters with Aaron Harrell and Kevin Wynne each adding nine kills. Harrell recorded a match-high eight total blocks. Freshman outside hitter Jordan DuFault totaled a career-high 15 digs.

Stanford had four players in double-digit kills led by Evan Romero with 14. Matt Ceran added 13 kills, while Brandon Williams and Spencer McLachin each had 11 kills.
