Irvine, Calif. – UC Irvine outside hitter Taylor Wilson has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II Men’s National Player of the Week.

The senior led the No. 1-ranked Anteaters to a 3-1 win over then-No. 9 UCLA in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) quarterfinal match. Wilson hit .412 and put away a career-high 29 kills in 51 swings with eight errors. He also had six digs, two aces and two blocks, while racking up an 8.00 points per game average. The 29 kills topped his previous career-best of 24 set in 2008.

This is the third time Wilson has earned Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II Player of the Week honors in his career and the second time this season (Feb.2, 2009) he has been recognized.
