RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Seniors Tim Hutten and Cole Bitter combined for 12 goals to lead fifth-ranked UC Irvine to an 18-7 win over Cal Baptist Friday at the Lancer Aquatic Center in Riverside.

Hutten scored seven goals and Bitter five as both players are coming off redshirt seasons in 2006.

Senior Colin Mello added three goals and freshman Brandon Johnson two for UCI. Senior goalie Matt Garcia recorded 12 saves for UCI, which built a 12-5 halftime lead in its season opener.

Josh Harris and Ryan Steiger scored two goals each for Cal Baptist (1-4).

UCI competes in the NorCal Tournament at Berkeley next Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 15-16).
