Second-ranked California overcame an early 2-0 deficit with four straight goals and eventually pulled away for the 11-7 victory. Kevin Mundia and Reid Tomassi scored extra-man goals in the first 2 ½ minutes to give the 49ers their 2-0 lead before Frank Reynolds, Zac Monsees, Scott Cruikshank and Vladislav Andreyev scored consecutive goals for the Golden Bears. Cal's Spencer Warden led all scorers with three goals while Mundia and Ashley Blythen led the 49ers with two each.
