Team USA Finishes 4th at FINA World League Super Final
June 21, 2009 PODGORICA, Montenegro --- UC Irvine alum Tim Hutten scored a goal but the U.S. Senior National Team lost to Serbia, 9-7, in the bronze medal match at the FINA World League Super Final. The Americans took a 4-3 halftime lead but Serbia outscored the U.S. 6-3 over the last two quarters. Tony Azevedo and Layne Beaubien led Team USA with two goals apiece. Next action for the U.S. is the World Championships as the Americans will open against Italy July 20 in Rome.
