'Eaters Host Stanford, Concordia Sunday

DOUBLEHEADER SUNDAY: Coach Marc Hunt's UC Irvine men's water polo team (14-7 overall, 2-2 MPSF), hosts a pair of games Sunday (Nov. 8).
The `Eaters face No. 3 Stanford at noon in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation contest and 10th-ranked Concordia University at 6:00 p.m. in a non-conference game.
`EATERS SPLIT UP NORTH: Seventh-ranked UCI split a pair of MPSF games in northern California last weekend.
UCI fell to No. 2 California, 13-10 last Saturday as the Bears scored five consecutive goals in the second quarter.
The `Eaters, who outscored Cal 5-3 in the fourth quarter, were led by juniors Griffin Lerman and Brandon Johnson with two goals each.
On Sunday, four goals in the final period lifted UCI past Pacific 6-4. Senior Cole Bielskis led the `Eaters with a pair of goals.
SCORING LEADERS: Cole Bielskis leads the team in scoring with 38 goals while Tom Kruip follows with 37. They rank seventh and eighth in the MPSF in scoring with averages of 1.81 and 1.76 goals per game, respectively.
Brandon Johnson has 33 goals, Greg Enloe 26, James Frank 21, Kyle Kruip 15, Trent Baxter 11 and Griffin Lerman 10.
IN GOAL: Junior Matt Johnson has started 20 games and has 139 saves. Senior Erik Evered has played in five games with one start and has recorded 22 stops.
