Palos Verdes, Calif. -- UC Irvine is in 15th place after the first day of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Vedres County Club.

 

The Anteaters shot a first round of 313 and are 15th out of 15 teams. USC leads the field with a even par 284. Duke is second (292), UCLA and Pepperdine are third (295) and Denver is fifth (296) after the first 18 holes.

 

Junior Hillary Packard is 28th with a four-over par 75. Freshman Michelle Park and Lalita Patipaksiri are tied for 55th with a score of 79. Sophomore Joy Trotter shot an 80 and is 60th, while senior Henna Cho is 69th with a score of 81.


 

 

 

The tournament continues with 18 holes Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
